Thin air

I can't keep up, you're moving too fast. Deep holes and darkness, these things will part. Dark times and strange places were. When I came to see you, you had nothing to say. I stood right beside you, you turned the other way. I reached out to hold you and found nobody there: you turn into air. Trust me, I want you just as you are, don't change the things you do, just stay as you are. Dark times and strange places were. When I came to see you, you had nothing to say. I stood right beside you, you turned the other way. I reached out to hold you and found nobody there: you turn into air

Another dull day

Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner. Sometimes I feel like my only friend is the city I live in, the city of angels. Lonely as I am, together we cry. I drive on her streets 'cause she's my companion, I walk through her hill 'cause she knows who I am. She sees my good deeds and she kisses me windy. I'd never worry, now that is a lie. I don't ever want to feel like I did that day. Take me to the place I love, take me all the way. It's hard to believe that there's nobody out there. It's hard to believe that I'm all alone. At least I have her love, the city she loves me. Lonely as I am, together we cry. I don't ever want to feel like I did that day. Take me to the place I love, take me all the way. (Under the bridge downtown) Is where I drew some blood. I could not get enough. Forgot about my love. I gave my life away.

November has come

When I look into your eyes, I can see a love restrained. But darling when I hold you, don't you know I feel the same? Nothing lasts forever, and we both know hearts can change, and it's hard to hold a candle in the cold November rain. We've been through this such a long, long time just trying to kill the pain, but lovers always come and lovers always go, and no one's really sure who's letting go today, walking away. If we could take the time to lay it on the line, I could rest my head just knowing that you were mine, all mine. So if you want to love me, then darling don't refrain, or I'll just end up walking in the cold November rain. Do you need some time on your own? Do you need some time all alone? Everybody needs some time on their own. Don't you know you need some time all alone? I know it's hard to keep an open heart when even friends seem out to harm you, but if you could heal a broken heart, wouldn't time be out to charm you? Sometimes I need some time on my own. Sometimes I need some time all alone. Everybody needs some time on their own. Don't you know you need some time all alone? And when your fears subside and shadows still remain, I know that you can love me, when there's no one left to blame. So never mind the darkness, we still can find a way, 'cause nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain. Don't ya think that you need somebody? Don't ya think that you need someone? Everybody needs somebody. You're not the only one, you're not the only one.

Still

If you'd like to walk awhile, we could waste the day. Follow me into the trees, I will lead the way. Bring some change out to the bridge, bring some alcohol. There we'll make a final wish, just before the fall. Promise I will be forever yours. Promise not to say another word. Nevermind what's done is done, always was a lucky one. Watch the sunrise all alone sitting on the tracks. Hear the train coming roaring in, never coming back. Laying quiet in the grass, everything is still. River stones and broken boness cattered on the hill. Promise I will be forever yours. Promise not to say another word. Nevermind what's done is done, always was a lucky one. Promise I will be forever yours. Promise not to say another word. Here forever deep beneath the dirt. Nevermind what's done is done, always was a lucky one.

#42

Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head. And since I fell for that spell, I am living there as well, oh...Time is so short and I'm sure there must be something more. Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head, oh. And since I fell for that spell, I am living there as well, oh... Time is so short and I'm sure there must be something more. You thought you might be a ghost! You thought you might be a ghost! You didn't get to heaven but you made it close. You didn't get to heaven but you made it close. You thought you might be a ghost! You thought you might be a ghost! You didn't get to heaven but you made it close. You didn't get to heaven but you, oh, oh. Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head, oh...

Don't change the things that you do

You say you wander your own land, but when I think about it I don't see how you can. You're aching, you're breaking, and I can see the pain in your eyes. Says everybody's changing and I don't know why. So little time try to understand that I'm trying to make a move just to stay in the game, I try to stay awake and remember my name, but everybody's changing and I don't feel the same. You're gone from here, soon you will disappear fadding into beautiful light, 'cause everybody's changing and I don't feel right. So little time try to understand that I'm trying to make a move just to stay in the game, I try to stay awake and remember my name, but everybody's changing and I don't feel the same. Oh, everybody's changing and I don't feel the same.

Who is the man I see?

I don't see myself when I look in the mirror, I see who I should be. I don't see myself when I look in your eyes, thank God for that. I don't see myself when I look cross the river, I see where I should be. I don't see myself when I look from the sky, thank God for that. I hear them screaming on the radio. It's getting louder in the crossfire. Tryin' to find some hope from the ashes of their broken home. I don't see myself when they fail to deliver, I see what I should be. I don't see myself when I look at the flag, thank God for that. I hear them screaming on the radio. It's getting louder in the crossfire. Tryin' to find some hope. Our day will come. Well, find the sun. Well, find the fire. Well, set a fire the love we give, our one desire. I hear them screaming on the radio. It's getting louder in the crossfire, tryin' to find some hope. I hear them screaming on the radio. It's getting louder in the crossfire. Tryin' to find some hope from the ashes of their broken home. I don't see myself when I look in the mirror.

Oh, well...

Well, every highway that I go down seems to be longer than the last one that I knew about. And every girl that I walk around seems to be more of an illusion than the last one I've found. And this old man in front of me, wearing canes and ruby rings, and it's like a dang explosion when he sings. And with every chance to set himself on fire, he just ends up doing the same thing. Well, each beautiful thing I come across tells me to stop moving and shake this riddle off. And there was a time when all I wanted was my ice cream colder and a little cream soda. And a wooden box and an alley full of rocks was all I had to care about. Now my mind is filled with rubber tires and forest fires and whether I'm a liar. And lots of other situations where I don't know what to do at which time God screams to me there's nothing left for me to tell you. Nothing left for me to tell you. Nothing left. Oh, well...

Oh, well...

Rainy day

I can't sleep tonight. Everybody saying everything's alright, still I can't close my eyes. I'm seeing a tunnel at the end of all these lights. Sunny days, where have you gone? I get the strangest feeling you belong. Why does it always rain on me? Is it because I lied when I was seventeen? Why does it always rain on me? Even when the sun is shining, I can't avoid the lightning. I can't stand myself, I'm being held up by invisible men. Still life on a shelf when I got my mind on something else. Sunny days, where have you gone? I get the strangest feeling you belong. Why does it always rain on me? Is it because I lied when I was seventeen? Why does it always rain on me? Even when the sun is shining, I can't avoid the lightning. Oh, where did the blue skies go? And why is it raining so cold? It's so cold. Why does it always rain on me? Why does it always rain?
